Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi Picks Mariam Anako  As New Queen …What You Need To Know About Her

Co-chairman of the National Council of Rational Rulers of Nigeria, Ooni of Ife, Ooni Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi , has chosen an Ebira woman, Mariam Anako as his new Queen.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned the traditional marriage was held at the  Ooni of Ife’s palace, Enuwa  Quarters, Ile-Ife, Osun state on Tuesday.

Queen Mariam Ogunwusi is the daughter of Hon Sikirat Anako, an influential politician in Kwara state.

A retired Superintendent of Police,  Hon Sikirat Anako , whose mother is from the Kobi royal family of Ilorin, was at different times  the Vice Chairman, Transition Implementation Committee, Oyun Local Government and a member of the Kwara state House of Assembly.

Hon Sikirat Anako , who was born in 1952, had also served as Liaison Officer , Special Assistant (Non-Governmental) and  Special Assistant  on Rural Water  and  Urban Development under two former Kwara state governors;  Dr Bukola Saraki and Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Queen Mariam’s sibling, Mrs. Raliat Abdulrahman nee Anako currently serves as Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila’s  Special Adviser  while Medina Anako, who is also her sister, is  Governor Yahaya Bello’s  Special Adviser on Intergovernmental Affairs and Kogi state Diaspora Focal Point Officer (DFPO) . 

The top traditional ruler , Ooni Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi , had just taken a decision to give marriage a fourth chance.

The new Queen will be the third woman   Ooni Ogunwusi  would marry since becoming the Ife monarch on October 26, 2015.

 Adebukola Bombata, was the Ooni’s wife before becoming a traditional ruler in 2015, they had however gone their separate ways before his emergence as Ife monarch.

She reportedly relocated to the United Kingdom after their separation.

In 2016, the Ooni of Ife got married to Zaynab Otiti Obanor , an indigene of   Benin ,  but  Zaynab  later walked away from the marriage in 2017.

In  2018,  a prophetess, Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi, became the Ife monarch’s new queen and they welcomed a baby boy in 2020.
