Osun Prominent Traditional Ruler, Oba Adedapo Aderemi, Joins His Ancestors… What You Need To Know About Him
Highly intelligent and stylish monarch, Oba Adeen Adedapo Aderemi, the Olojudo Alaiyemore of Ido –Osun, Osun state, has joined his ancestors.
He would have turned 72 on August 25, 2024.
Oba Adeen Adedapo Aderemi, who was the Vice Chairman of Osun state Council of Obas, was also the Secretary of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria.
Ido –Osun is an ancient town that is fifteen minutes drive from Oshogbo, the Osun state capital, and it hosts the first aerodrome in West Africa.
Oba Aderemi was one of the top traditional rulers in the State of the Living Spring.
Before becoming a traditional ruler in June 2005 , Oba Aderemi , an American returnee, was a socialite and an Osogbo-based businessman, who owned the then popular Adeen Plaza in the Ota-Efun area of Oshogbo which had a filling station. He also owned companies that include Remmy Foods.
Oba Aderemi had a stint with the United Nations and once lived in the United States of America.

He would also be remembered for changing titles within his 18 years on the throne and he had genuine reasons for his actions.
He was formerly known as Oludo, he changed it to Olojudo and also later made it register some modifications as he was addressed as Olojudo-Alayemore of Ido-Osun.
The highly dynamic Oba Aderemi did this based on exigencies; he changed it from Oludo to Olojudo owing to historical antecedents while he added the name of a prominent ancestor, Alayemore to make him have a distinct identity from the other Olojudos.
‘According to the Gold coast Gazette No 11 of 1885 and No 61 Lagos Gazette No 2 of 1886, three Olojudos were listed among the recognized crowned kings in Yoruba land. They are the Olojudo of Ido-Osun, Olojudo of Ido –Ogangan and the Olojudo of Efon’ he had told our reporter in November 2013.
