Kano Throne: Gov Yusuf Presents Reappointment Letter To Lamido Sanusi, Says Justice Liman Giving Order From America ‘ll Be Discussed At NGF Meeting

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano state submitted on Friday that the issue of Justice Mohammed Liman of the Federal High Court  giving an order stopping the reinstatement of  Alhaji Sanusi Lamido as Emir of Kano from the United States of America, would be discussed at the meeting of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).

Recall that Justice Liman had granted the order sequel to the application filed by the Sarkin Dawaki Babba of the Kano Emirate Council, Aminu Babba Dan Agundi seeking to stop the Kano state Government from enforcing the Kano state Emirate Council Repeal Law which had sanctioned the dissolution of the four emirate councils created by the Abdulahi Ganduje administration.

‘The person that issued the court order is in America but he is ordering us to stop what we are doing. This issue of abuse I must present it before the Governor’s Forum so that we can tackle it accordingly.

We are agents of  due process, that’s why we did what we did openly before everybody. Those that are meant to maintain the rule of law must follow that also’  Governor Yusuf submitted while reacting to the court order in question  after presenting the reappointment letter to Lamido at the  Africa House, Kano State Government House.

 ‘By the powers conferred on me by the Kano Emirate Council Law of 1984 and 2024, and supported by the recommendation of the kingmakers, I have the singular pleasure of confirming the reappointment of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano and the head of the Kano Emirate Council’ the governor had said earlier.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Governor Yusuf, who  urged the new Kano Emir ‘to be guided by the principles of Islamic teachings and to use his position to unite the emirate, and foster harmony among the Islamic sects in the state’, also noted that Sanusi’s reappointment was ‘based on his competence, credibility and popularity’
