Wike To Senator Ireti Kingibe: Don’t Waste Your Time Seeking Reelection In 2027, You’ll Lose Your Parliament Seat

 Minister of  Federal Capital Territory , Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike submitted  on Monday  that Senator  Ireti Heebah Kingibe, who currently represents FCT in the senate , should not waste her time seeking to retain her parliament seat in 2027 because she will lose reelection.

He also asked the senator to go and hug transformer if she is not happy that residents of Abuja are praising the development strides of the  Bola Tinubu administration.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the former Rivers state governor , who said this while giving his speech during  the flag off ceremony  of the Mabushi Bus Terminal in Abuja, noted that Kingibe’s failure to collaborate with the FCT Ministry  is disheartening .

 Senator Kingibe had while appearing on Arise TV  programme earlier in the day condemned the FCT ministry  under Wike’s leadership while noting that she is  not a friend of the minister.

The federal lawmaker was one of the seven senators produced by the Labour Party in the 2023 National Assembly and presidential  elections.

There has been no love lost between Wike and Kingibe since 2023 and the FCT minister had accused the senator of feeling incensed because she had failed to get appointed as Chairman of Committee on FCT.

‘Somebody wants to be your friend. I said I don’t want to be your friend. Is it by force? The problem is that she wanted to be chairman of the senate committee on FCT but the senate president said: I’m not giving you’  Wike  had submitted in March this year.

Kingibe  had in September 2023,  submitted that  Wike lacks the executive powers to issue threats that he will demolish ‘illegal buildings’ in Abuja while in January this year, she had accused the minister of refusing  to respond to her letters and messages following rising insecurity in  the FCT.

Wike however said on Monday that the senator has not done anything to improve the lives of her constituents.

‘I overheard somebody on Arise TV this morning. Unfortunately, I hear the person is a member of the National Assembly and it is unfortunate I say so. With all due respect, what you don’t know, you don’t know, what you know you know, and the good thing for you is to tell people you don’t when you don’t know, then people will educate you.

The Honourable Minister of state and my humble self have not been in office for more than 11 months and the person is angry that they are praising us. If you don’t want  that or you are angry about that, go and hang yourself on a transformer. If we have done well, we have done well. If we haven’t done well, we haven’t done well. I am proud to say that in the short time that Mr. President has appointed us, we have done well.

You said there are no schools and there are no hospitals. You, as a legislator, what have you done? How many bills have you sponsored for us to improve our education and health sectors?

I challenge that legislator. If you are very popular, 2027 come and contest for election in Abuja, we will fail you. Do you think that what happened last time, will happen again? It will not happen again. Luckily for me, I am the FCT Minister now. So, this is my territory and I’m not afraid.

So, people should  come out and be able to accept the truth. We are not begging for anybody to become our friend; we have so many friends that we cannot even carry along. So, how can we go and be begging people to become our friends. We are not interested in that.
