Bayo Ajeigbe: Former Minister Akinlabi Olasunkanmi Offers Condolences , Calls Him Blunt, Straightforward Person
A member of the 5th National Assembly , who also served as Minister for Youth Development under late Umaru Yar’Adua, former senator Akinlabi Olasunkanmi, has joined other PDP leaders in Osun state to mourn the death of a political bigwig , late Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe.
Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe , a prominent Osun state PDP leader, died in Osogbo, on Sunday at the age of 75.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com, the former minister noted that despite a difference of opinion between him and the deceased and being at odds with him over issues that had to do with politics in some instances, they had however maintained an excellent relationship.
He submitted that ‘this had never diminished my profound respect, admiration and high esteem for his person’.
Akinlabi also described the deceased as a straightforward person.
‘This evening, I received with shock the sad news of the transition to higher glory of one of our foremost leaders in Osun State PDP, Chief Bayo Ajeigbe.
What a loss and what a time when his wise counsel would have been needed most. But who are we to question the Almighty.
My heartfelt sympathies to his immediate family in particular and the larger PDP family on his sudden departure from this sinful World, he has completed his assignment and we thank God for his life and his accomplishments. May the good Lord forgive him his sins.
Notwithstanding my disagreement with him on some political issues, this had never diminished my profound respect, admiration and high esteem for his person. Little wonder that almost every other week, Baba Ajeigbe will call me and say, “Hon. Minister, mo ma fe ri e”, and I will answer like an obedient son, “Baba ma y’oju si yin laipe”, not knowing that I will never see him alive, again. What an irony.
During his lifetime, it was not difficult to know where Chief Ajeigbe stood on knotty and sometimes, controversial political issues. This is the hallmark of a true leader for which he was most respected and will be most remembered.
May the Almighty give his family and other loved ones he left behind the fortitude to bear this painful and irreplaceable loss.
Good night Chief Ajeigbe, may your gentle Soul Rest In Perfect Peace’ he wrote- Team@orientactualmags.com
