INEC Declares Lucky Aiyedatiwa Winner Of 2024 Ondo Guber Election…ADC Candidate Calls Getting 2 Votes At Polling Station ‘Satisfying Results’

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa as winner of the gubernatorial election held in Ondo State on Saturday.
The electoral umpire did this through the Returning Officer, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi on Sunday.
Akinwumi, who is the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State ,said Aiyedatiwa , who was the APC gubernatorial candidate, got 366,781 votes while the PDP governorship candidate, Mr Agboola Ajayi had 117,845 votes.

‘I, Professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwunmi, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the 2024 Ondo State governorship election held on the 16th November, 2024.
That Ayedatiwa Lucky Orimisan of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and governor-elect’ he submitted.
Aiyedatiwa had succeeded late Chief Rotimi Akeredolu , who died on December 27, 2023, at the age of 67.
Akeredolu became the Chief Executive of Ondo state on February 24, 2017, while Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa became the Deputy Governor of Ondo state on February 24 , 2021, after the former NBA president won re-election.
He had become Akeredolu’s running mate after the former Deputy Governor, Mr. Agboola Ajayi left the APC for PDP and later the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) ahead of the gubernatorial election that was held on October 10,2020.
In the meanwhile, Myson Nejo , who was the African Democratic Congress guber candidate in the election in question, has submitted that he felt satisfied having 2 votes at his polling station.
Nejo noted that he would have won the 2024 Ondo State guber polls if he had showed interest in buying votes.
‘The reaction of the people? I thank the good people of Ondo State for voting for me without giving them any money, and they still voted for me. I want to believe that my vote is valid because there was nothing like vote-buying or any unethical practices on my side. So far, I want to believe I’m a winner in this election. People were buying votes for N20,000 or N15,000, and in my polling unit, it was N10,000 to N15,000.
Because I didn’t have money and I told them I wasn’t going to give even a kobo to buy votes, I ended up with only two votes in my unit and about 40 votes in total, but I don’t care. People were calling me, asking for money in exchange for their votes, but I stood my ground. If they want to vote, they should vote. I wasn’t going to give a kobo to buy votes’ Nejo said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us? Do you want us to cover your event or programme?
