VP Shettima, Gov Idris, Gbajabiamila, Other Dignitaries Attend Wedding Of Rep Kaoje’s Daughter In Birnin Kebbi

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), was on hand to give Vice President Kashim Shettima and other dignitaries a warm welcome in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
The dignitaries were in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital, to attend the wedding of the daughter of Hon. Bello Kaoje, who represents Bagudo/Suru Federal Constituency, in the House of Representatives.
The Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi witnessed a flurry of activities as flights arrived there and it witnessed the arrival of esteemed guests from across the country. Vice President Shettima arrived at the airport at 11:00 am, followed shortly by a delegation from the National Assembly at 11:30 am.

Prominent dignitaries at the event include Governors Babagana Umara Zulum (Borno State) and Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto State), President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Senator Ahmed Sani Yarima and former Kebbi State governor, Alhaji Sa’idu Dakingari.
Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Tanko Yusuf Sununu also attended the event.
The wedding ceremony took place at the Abdullahi Fodiyo Palace, Birnin Kebbi, with Vice President Shettima serving as the Special Guest of Honour.
He presided over the solemnization of the three marriages in line with Islamic traditions.
Alhaji Shettima stood as the Waliy (guardian) for Sadiyya Bello Kaoje, who got married to Zaharadeen Faruq Bala. This was done after the payment of ₦300,000 dowry.
In his remarks, Shettima prayed for the couple, saying:
‘I pray that Allah will bless them with good health, longevity, and righteous offspring while granting our nation peace and security’.
The Vice President also stood as waliy for Yusra Bala Bawa, who married Hussaini Adamu Hussaini, son of a prominent contractor, ZBBC sequel to the payment of ₦300,000 dowry, and Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State played the role of Wakil (representative) for the grooms.
Governor Nasir Idris served as the Waliy for Hadiza Aliyu, who married Nafi’u Zaki while Governor Babagana Umara Zulum stood as the Wakil for the groom who paid ₦200,000 as dowry.
The Emir of Gwandu and Chairman of Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, a retired Major General, gave the couples royal blessings.

The Chief Imam of the Palace Jumu’a Mosque, Liman Muhammadu Lawali, and the Chief Imam of the Central Mosque, Sheikh Mukhtar Walin Gwandu, jointly presided over the nikkah ceremony and offered prayers for the newlyweds, the nation’s leaders, and the country.
