Police Confirm Abduction Of ABSIEC Chairman, Say Rescue Efforts Underway
Abia State police command on Friday confirmed the abduction of Professor George Chima, who is the Chairman of Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC).
It was gathered that Chima was abducted at his Okigwe residence in Imo State on Friday, while he was attending to some lecturers from Abia State University, Uturu who had visited his residence.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that spokesman for the state police command, DSP Henry Okoye, has not only confirmed the incident but also noted that efforts to rescue him unhurt is ‘in progress
‘Yes, we are aware of the kidnap of the Prof and we have commenced investigations.
As I speak to you now, the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, has personally led the team of police to Okigwe.
