Body, Soul And Hope: Sheikh Aduagba Outlines 3 Essential Pillars Of Human Life At Fidau Prayer Held For AbdulYekeen Oganija In Ilorin
Prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abdulrazaq Aduagba Al-adabiyyah has urged Muslims and people of other faiths to reflect on the fleeting nature of existence, emphasizing that human life is defined by a delicate balance of body, soul, and earthly realities.

Team@orientactualmags.com reports that the Islamic cleric said this in his short sermon during the 3-day Fidau prayer held for late Alhaji Abdulyekeen Oganija at the Sarumi Central Mosque, Ilorin on Friday.

The new Magaji of Oganija, Alhaji Isiaka Oganija , sitting first from the left, and other members of the Oganija family.
Sheikh Aduagba noted that human existence comprises a physical body and a spiritual soul adding that when death inevitably arrives, the soul departs, leaving the temporary vessel behind. He submitted that while those enjoying prosperity might willingly spend everything they own to prolong life, others facing severe hardship become so despondent that they would choose to disappear from the earth entirely if given the chance.
No matter the efforts, however, death is, according to him, inevitable for all living souls.
He also said the world remains dynamic and engaging due to three critical existential phenomena:
Sheikh Aduagba listed these to include ‘forgetfulness’, a trait that allows humans to adapt and move forward from both immense joy and deep sorrow. He illustrated this by noting that a man who unexpectedly receives a pilgrimage sponsorship will celebrate but eventually normalize the joy within three days. Similarly, a grieving individual may initially refuse food but will eventually resume eating as they grow accustomed to their loss.
The second one is ‘hope’ which is constant anticipation of a better tomorrow that drives human ambition and keeps people actively striving until their very last breath while the third one is ‘vacuums and replacements’ , a natural cycle of departure and succession that ensures orderly, sequential growth within families and society.
He urged those in positions of authority to avoid getting influenced or control by the enormous power they wield, which is temporary.
In separate tribute, Alfa Abdulhakeem Oganija, who is popularly called Alahu Yazid, reflected on the Oganija family’s transition from a lineage of warriors to a legacy of distinguished Islamic scholars, drawing a parallel to the historical transformation of Caliph Umar bin Khattab.
He praised the late Alhaji Abdulyekeen Oganija, who served as Magaji of Oganija from 2015 to Wednesday, October 7, 2026, describing him as a generous, peace-loving, and conscientious community leader whose absence will be deeply felt.
Alhaji AbdulHakeem also prayed that the new Magaji of Oganija, Alhaji Isiaka Oganija will enjoy a long life.
