Kwara PDP Condemns Ilorin South LG Chairman’s Role In Alleged Vandalization Of Transformer Donated By Senator Mustapha

Kwara State PDP has condemned the role played by the Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government, Mr. Abdulmajid Kpodo in the alleged vandalization of the 500kva transformer donated by Senator Salihu Mustapha to the Alagbado Community.

The party has described the chairman’s action as not only irresponsible but also a gross disservice to the people of Alagbado community, who will now be made to stay without power supply for a long period due to his disregard for the welfare of his people and his prioritization of political sycophancy over community interest.

PDP has accused Kpodo of doing this to display political loyalty to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

‘It is important to remind Ilorin South people and other Kwarans that this same council chairman and the rest of his colleagues were not elected by the people but were rather installed through the compromised September 2024 LG elections orchestrated by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and the Okanla-led  Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC)’ the party submitted in a statement  made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara on Monday.

‘ Kwara PDP views the vandalisation of the transformer in question as a direct consequence of the ongoing political feud between Governor Abdulrahman and Senator Salihu Mustapha. It is evident that the governor, threatened by Senator Mustapha’s exchange of pleasantries with Dr. Bukola Saraki, the leader of PDP in Kwara at an event recently, has resorted to using his loyalists, such as the Ilorin South Chairman, to unleash venoms and sabotage projects facilitated by the senator even at the expense of ordinary Kwarans. 

While the Kwara PDP is unbothered by the growing internal conflicts within the Kwara APC under Abdulrazaq,  knowing full well that ‘Otoge’ was a coalition of fake comrades brought together by hypocrisy and jealousy, we are however concerned about the disastrous consequence of these whole things on innocent citizens’ the party said.

The party has called on security agencies and the IBEDC to immediately swing into action, investigate the matter thoroughly, and ensure that the  council chairman in question  and  others face the full wrath of the law.
