Osun APC Explains Federal High Court Ruling, Accuses PDP Of Spreading Misinformation
Osun State APC explained on Tuesday that the dismissal of a suit in connection with the stand-off over the control of local governments in the state did not in any way affect the party negatively .
Accusing the ruling party, the PDP, of spreading misinformation, Osun State APC in a statement issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its spokesman, Mr. Kola Olabisi explained that the dismissal of the suit in question was sequel to filing a notice of discontinuance.
‘It would be recalled that on 20th February, 2025, when the noise of the PDP was fast becoming nauseating just to avoid compliance and obedience to the meritorious judgment of the ruling delivered by the Appeal Court on February 10, 2025, which reinstated the elected local government officials , the ever-lawful APC approached the Federal High Court and sought some reliefs to avert further violence such that the PDP’s thugs unleashed on them on 17th February, 2025.
Among the people sued by the APC was the Hon. Attorney General of the Federation.
By the evening of the same 20th February 2025, wise counsel prevailed, and this was further dignified with the popular opinions of the Hon. Attorney General of the Federation, in which the conduct of the planned 22nd February 2025 local government elections was described as unlawful and illegal.
On 21st February, 2025, just a day after the institution of the suit, the plaintiffs filed a Notice of Discontinuance. By this notice, the suit is automatically discontinued from the court file more so that none of the defendants had filed any defence to the suit.
The matter was just listed today for striking out as requested by the APC.
The PDP-government and OSSIEC’s lawyers struggled in vain while begging the judge to dismiss it but were told by the Court that such was not the position of the law therefore, struck out the case.
This is what the PDP government and its e-rodents want to manipulate as having got a judgment that had again sacked the reinstated elected local government officials.
Members of the public are therefore, advised to ignore the rumours and have the understanding of the poor education and enlightenment of the PDP most especially when it comes to serious and sensitive issues.
It is to be noted further that spreading false information is not only wrong but also criminal and unless these ill-informed PDP members desist from this act, the APC may be forced to push for enforcement of criminal codes applicable to this usual devilish antics’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
