Hon Razaq Olatunde Owolabi represents Share /Oke-Ode state constituency in Kwara State House of Assembly.

The medical outreach team gave people free health treatments at the open field of Community Secondary School, Babaloma, Ifelodun local government on Friday, April 18, 2025.

Dr. AbdulRashid Kelani, a Public Health Physician and Consultant at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin told Team@orientactualmags.com that the common ailments discovered in the people who came for ‘medical check-up’ are malaria, diabetes, hypertension, and upper respiratory tract infection.
He commended Hon Razaq Owolabi for prioritizing the health needs of his constituents while urging him to continue with such health intervention programmes.
‘We have really had a large turnout. We have attended to children and adults. It is a free medical outreach programme. We are giving people free eyeglasses, free drugs and free laboratory check-ups, random blood sugar, malaria, parasite tests and some other investigation and the crowd is really impressive. Actually, we want to take a break so that we can rest and then resume after Jumah prayer, it has really been impressive.
It’s a one-day programme and it was facilitated by Hon Owolabi Razak and we really appreciate him for doing this. So, we hope that we will still be brought back here and other communities in his constituency’ he said.
Dr. AbdulRashid Kelani also talked about the common ailments discovered in the people that came for the ‘medical check-up’.

‘The common ailments are malaria, diabetes, hypertension, upper respiratory tract infection and others and we have been attending to all of them.
As for the eye section, we have been giving them corrective glasses and we have been screening them for glaucoma, cataracts, and there are plans to make them go for further ‘check-up’ in Ilorin . So, we are collating the data and we would be submitting this to Hon Razaq at the end of the programme’ he added.
The Public Health Physician also asserted that the medical outreach programme has recorded significant impacts.
‘Yes, in fact, we need to thank the facilitator. This has gone a long way in impacting people positively, because a lot of people, for instance, do not know their blood pressure. They don’t know their blood sugar level. They don’t know that they have ailments that have been there for years.
So, it has really helped, and it has improved the health status of the community. We urge him to continue in this line and to do it more frequently and to also take measures in respect of the Primary Health Center in Fadeyi area which is not far from here because today is a public holiday and when we got there, we didn’t find any staff there.
We were told that they are not on duty so, we want the lawmaker to facilitate the deployment of more staff to the health center so that when we leave here, the health center can continue to attend to their health needs because we are not going to be here forever’ he submitted.
Also talking to Team@orientactualmags.com, Hon Razaq Olatunde Owolabi said the medical outreach programme was organized to support the efforts made by the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration to meet the healthcare needs of Kwara residents.
He noted that coming up with the idea of organizing the medical outreach programme is more beneficial and impactful than distributing money to the people.
The state lawmaker also noted that he has continued to prioritize the health needs of his constituents because a healthy population will ensure a stronger economy.
He also said the medical outreach programme is one of the dividends of democracy that will make his constituents feel the impacts of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda and know that they voted for the right people in the 2023 General Election.
Garba Pello from Okose Ward 5, Abdulkarim Ibrahim Adanlawo from Adako Ward and Mrs Khadijat Adanlawo, who were among the beneficiaries, commended Hon Razaq Owolabi for coming up with community-level health intervention programmes while noting that he has justified the confidence reposed in him-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
