Members Of AFCSC Senior Course 47 Visit Kwara Garment Factory In Ilorin

Members of Senior Course 47, Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, Kaduna State, who were on a study tour, visited the Kwara Garment Factory, Ilorin, on Monday.
The team comprising senior military officers from the three branches of the Nigerian Armed Forces and allied nations, was led by Colonel Usman Hashim Muhammed and they were warmly received by the Managing Director of Kwara Garment Factory, Ilorin, Hajia Bukola Adedeji, who led a guided tour of the facility.
In her welcome address, Hajia Adedeji expressed her pleasure at hosting representatives from such a respected institution while emphasizing the role of the factory in advancing industrialization, creating jobs, and supporting the economic diversification efforts of the state government.
The visitors were taken through the full production cycle; from fabric cutting to finishing, and introduced to the factory’s skilled workforce and modern equipment.
Also present was the Permanent Secretary, General Services, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ganiyu Shuaib, who noted that the visit was part of a broader tour of key institutions in the state, this, he added, will help to deepen the participants’ understanding of governance and national development strategies.
Giving his speech, Colonel Muhammed praised both the Kwara State Government and the management of the garment factory for the warm reception while explaining that the study tour which had as its theme ‘Harnessing Grassroots Intelligence for Enhancing Internal Security’ aims to strengthen civil-military relations, encourage community engagement, and explore how economic initiatives can contribute to national security and sustainable development.
He commended the factory’s operational structure and its impact on youth empowerment and poverty reduction through job creation.
The visit also featured interactive sessions between course participants and factory staff, highlighting how grassroots economic ventures like the garment factory can play a vital role in promoting peace and security.
The Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, is Nigeria’s premier institution for training mid-level officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces and allied countries for higher command and staff responsibilities.
To commemorate the visit, the delegation received branded souvenirs such as T-shirts and caps as tokens of appreciation.
