Doctor Arrested For Murder In Edo Has ‘Questions’ To Answer In Kwara …Fear Grips Former Female Patients
Dr Adio Adeyemi Adebowale, a Chief Medical Director at the Kaiama General Hospital, Kwara state, who had been arrested and taken into custody by the police in Edo state, has gotten more questions to answer.
He was arrested on September 6, 2022, for the murder of a cab driver, Emmanuel Agbonvinues in Edo state . He had allegedly injected Emmanuel to death , dumped his body in the bush and went away with his car.
Adio’s name has again been mentioned in connection with the murder of two young women in Kwara state; Ifeoluwa , who had earlier been declared missing at the Tanke area of Ilorin in 2021 and Nofisat Halidu , whose whereabouts also became unknown in Kaiama, Kaiama Local Government , Kwara state.
Spokesman for Kwara state Police Command, Mr Okasanmi Ajayi, a Superintendent of Police, disclosed this in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday.
He said investigation into the two cases began on Saturday on the order of the new Police Commissioner, Paul Odama, who had assumed duties a few days ago, and taken necessary action on petitions submitted by some citizens in the state.
Ifeoluwa’s body was later discovered in the bush at Alapa , Asa local government where Dr Adio allegedly dumped it.
‘A particular matter that struck the new CP, was the reported case of a missing lady Nofisat Halidu (f), in Kaiama on 21/11/2021’ he said.
Okasanmi added that a high-powered investigation team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID, was mandated to take necessary step to solve all pending cases before the new CP’s assumption of office.
‘Working on a lead provided by Dr Adio Adeyemi Adebowale, in Edo state, confirming that he killed one Ifeoluwa (f), who was declared missing at Tanke area of Ilorin, investigation team visited Kaiama General Hospital and on arrival at his office, they forced the door open.
A cursory look at the office presented a suspicious site of a freshly cemented floor tiles; curiously, the tiles were broken and a gory site welcomed the detectives.
Lying inside the shallow grave was a decomposing carcass of an unidentified female.
Further search of the office led to the opening of a trash can where the body of another lady was found, She was later identified as the earlier reported missing Nofisat Halidu (f) identified by the husband, Halidu and other members of the community present ’ he said.
Okasanmi disclosed that other items recovered included: “two telephone handsets found inside the handbag of one of the ladies , there were two female handbags, a female wig, a veil and a female pants.
In furtherance of the investigation into the matter, the Kwara State Police Commissioner, Paul Odama, contacted the Edo state police command requesting for the release of the suspect to the Kwara State Police Command to answer some questions with regard to the discoveries in his office’ Okasanmi added.
Alhaji Abubakar Musa aka Biology , a former Chairman of the NUT in Kwara state , who was also the Baruten/Kaiama PDP reps candidate in 2019 , must have heaved a sigh of relief following the news of the discoveries made at the doctor’s office.
Abubakar is an indigene of Kaiama and one of the ladies involved ; Nofisat is his younger brother’s wife.
Abubakar, being a politician, many had insinuated that the way the lady got missing last year was suspicious and they had begun to leap to conclusions.
Dr Adio as a well-known face in Kaiama , had not only married an indigene of the town but also had ladies there feeling comfortable to discuss their health problems with him.
Sources told Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday night that since Adio made news through his arrest and the discoveries of carcasses in his office, fear had gripped his former female patients . especially those who had aborted pregnancy through the (Dilation and Curretage) method.
Speaking in hushed tones, they had begun to consider the idea of visiting hospitals at the major cities to confirm if their wombs are still intact- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
