Concerned Citizens Condemn Former Rep Rotimi Makinde’s Removal As FEDPOFFA Governing Council Member
Some concerned citizens have condemned the removal of Hon Rotimi Makinde as a member of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State alleging that this action was a product of ‘ulterior motive’.
While submitting that Makinde had used his membership of the Governing Council to promote peace, growth and progress of the institution, the termination of his membership will according to the Concerned Citizens retard the progress already made.
They also told Team@orientactualmags.com that his removal as a member of the Governing Council may be as a result of innocent error on the part of the parent ministry or a deliberate plot by the management of the institution to ease him out of his role.
They also noted that the fact that his purported replacement, Alhaji Waidi Olajire Ayinla got a warm welcome and had a lavish reception held in his honour gave credence to this and they have emphasized the need for the parent ministry to intervene and rectify the situation.
Reacting to this development in an interview with Team@orientactualmags.com on Tuesday, Hon Rotimi Makinde described it as insulting noting that he had saw his appointment as an opportunity to serve the country and he had never been found wanting while he had ensured that he contributed his quota and played a role in ensuring peace in the institution .
‘When we came on board, we met the institution under lock and key because the management had issues with the unions , I was appointed as chairman of the Ad hoc committee tasked with settling the issues and we succeeded in bring peace to the institution’ he added.
Hon Rotimi Makinde, a former staff of NNPCL and an actor, represented Ife Federal Constituency, Osun State in the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2015- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
