The Federal Government has finally okayed the 16-year tertiary admission policy proposal and henceforth only those who are 16 years and above can seek admission to tertiary institutions in the country.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, announced this during the 2025 Policy Meeting of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in Abuja on Tuesday.
Alausa, while declaring the meeting open, emphasized that the 16-year tertiary admission policy is now official and non-negotiable warning that any admission that is not done in conformity with this new rule would be considered as illegal.
The minister added that heads of institutions found culpable of admission fraud or circumventing the Central Admissions Processing System would also be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
