9 Kwarans Who Graduated With First Class Honours Receive Cash Gifts As Saraki Holds Dinner In Honour Of ‘New’ Lawyers In Abuja

Sequel to an ‘important’ event that marked their entry into the legal profession, former Senate President, who is also the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Friday held a dinner in honour of indigenes of Kwara State who have just left the Nigerian Law School.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Mr Abdulgabiyu Abdulqadir, who is Saraki’s  Press Officer on Local Matters, noted that the event organized by the Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Foundation, was held in honour of the Nigerian Law School Class of 2023/2024.

The dinner was attended by legal luminaries, mentors, and political figures .

Executive Director of the ABS Foundation, Dr. Audu Idowu Musa in his speech, noted that the event was not just a celebration but a reaffirmation of the Foundation’s commitment to education, youth empowerment, and leadership mentorship.

‘This gathering is not just a celebration of academic success, but a reaffirmation of our belief in your future and the role you will play in building a more just society’ he said.

In his remarks, Dr. Saraki, who is the founder of the Foundation, commended the new wigs for their resilience and perseverance while describing the educational achievements of the Kwara-born ‘new’ lawyers as inspirational. He has also urged them to uphold justice, integrity, and service in their professional journey.

‘We are proud of you. Your journey has only just begun, and the world is waiting for your impact. Through the ABS Foundation, we have supported law students over the years with tuition, materials, and moral support’ Saraki said.

Highlighting the Foundation’s continued support, the event featured presentation of ₦500,000 cash gift to each of the nine ‘new’ lawyers that graduated with first class honours.

The kind gesture, according to Saraki, is aimed at promoting academic excellence and easing things for the new lawyers as they get into the legal profession.

Abdulazeez Abdulsalam, Chairman of the Kwara Law School Students Association, who spoke on behalf of the ‘new’ lawyers, thanked Dr. Saraki and the ABS Foundation for their invaluable assistance during their educational pursuits

‘Today, we stand not just as students but as Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. During our journey, the Foundation came through for us time and again from sponsoring wigs and gowns for 50 students to paying call-to-bar screening fees for 35 of our members’ Abdulsalam said-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
