Senate Seat: KSUG Delegation Visits Olomu, Olupako To Discuss Unity, Cohesion In Kwara South…Emphasizes Importance Of Fairness, Equity
Ahead of the 2027 General Election, leaders of Kwara South Unity Group (KSUG) on Tuesday took the campaign for ‘fairness’ and ‘equity’ to the palace of Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti ditto the Olupako of Share, Oba Olawale Haruna Ilufemiloye during which they emphasized the need to allow the Igbomina bloc to produce the next occupant of Kwara South parliament seat.
The KSUG leaders noted during the ‘consultation visit’ that the need for an organized effort to promote and achieve equitable treatment and opportunities for the three blocs in Kwara South gave birth to the ‘Igbomina lokan’ campaign.
Former chairman of Oyun local government, Hon Adebayo Jimoh Alao, who led the KSUG delegation, emphasized the need for monarchs to lead the charge and ensure fairness and equity noting that this will help to strengthen unity and cohesion in the senatorial district.

The Ekiti bloc, he noted, had occupied the parliament seat for 12 years while the Ibolo bloc that took over in 2015, would be completing its 12 years in 2027, it was therefore in recognition of this fact that the group took a decision to embark on Igbomina lokan campaign to promote fairness and equity.
Also speaking, Dr Babatunde Salami, former Chairman, Ifelodun local government, said it is important that representation in respect of the senate seat is done in rotation to ensure unity and cohesion.
He also emphasized the need to avoid ‘new entrants’ who will not value what they have gotten and subsequently become unreachable and inaccessible while adding that those who have demonstrated the qualities of ‘true party men’ should be encouraged and supported.

Former Chairman, Isin local government, Hon Tunde Fadipe said it is not only important that the Igbomina bloc should be allowed to occupy the parliament seat but it is also imperative that the ‘slot’ is used judiciously by nominating a candidate that will do the ‘bloc’ proud .
He warned against actions that will later make people have feelings of remorse adding that ‘we should avoid emergency politicians, plan ahead and give the nomination to a qualified person’.
‘We all know Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun , he has been with us , we know what he can do and what he cannot do, and we know that he will do us proud if he becomes a member of the Nigerian Senate’ Hon Fadipe said.
He added that the Ekiti and Ibolo blocs have occupied the parliament seat while individuals who have been privileged to do this are being assessed hence the need for the Igbomina bloc to present a good candidate.

Hon Shade Olanrewaju , who declared the support of women in Kwara South for the ‘Igbomina lokan’ agitation, described Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun as a relentless person, who is humble and good-natured.
She asserted that the aerospace engineer is not only an electable person but added that he will also do the people of Kwara South proud and they would without prompting readily ask him to seek a second term.
Hon Ajan Agbenisi, who spoke on behalf of Ekiti people in Kwara State, also emphasized the need to allow the ‘senate seat’ to move to Igbomina axis to ensure fairness and equity.
He also urged support for Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun asserting that he will deliver quality representation.
Hon Ajan Agbenisi also said God will not support anyone who opposes Igbomina lokan campaign because there is a need to promote equity and fairness in order to ensure unity and cohesion.
In their separate speeches, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti and the Olupako of Share, Oba Olawale Haruna Ilufemiloye emphasized the need for unity among the people of Kwara South and Kwara State as a whole while promising to support efforts and initiatives aimed at advancing the development and growth of the senatorial district-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
