Kwara South: Nurudeen Adeyemi Receives Support For Senate Bid From Ekiti, Oke-Ero, Oyun, Isin, Ifelodun LGs APC Elders
Ahead of the 2027 General Election, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, a Kwara South APC senate aspirant, on Tuesday and Wednesday met with party elders in Isin local government, Oyun local government, Oke-Ero local government, Ekiti local government and Ifelodun local government at two different locations in the senatorial district.

The separate meetings were presided over by APC chairmen in the respective local governments.
Those who spoke at the meetings highlighted Engineer Adeyemi’s good qualities, positive personality traits and ‘value proposition’.












Submitting that his motivation has been the desire to serve the public interest and humanity, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi noted that he had before given thought to politics demonstrated his commitment to serving humanity through several initiatives including Omo Ibile Igbomina Clinic which made the Elesie of Esie honour him with the chieftaincy title of Akinkanjuomo of Esie in 2012.
His chieftaincy titles, he noted, were earned through the dedication he had shown to improving the lives of others long before he ventured into politics.

Noting that this is not the first time he will be launching a senate bid, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi cited President Bola Tinubu’s famous ‘emi lo kan’ quote to urge support for his candidacy while submitting that having sought for party nomination in 2019 and 2023 , this time around ,the spirit of Emi lokan (it’s my turn) should be allowed to prevail.
He added that although, he had previously sought for party nomination and did not get it on two occasions, he had however not only remained a member of the party but also worked for the success of the candidates nominated by the party on the reasoning that if he also wins party nomination he will need the support of the co-aspirants.
Declaring continued support for the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration, he disclosed that he bonded with the governor because they share the same vision and common goals citing the Innovation Hub in Ajase-Ipo and the Kwara Innovation Hub, Ilorin , the Omo Ibile Igbomina Clinic and the quarterly intervention in the health sector at the 16 local governments in the state.
He also said what he has done at TETFUND in less than two years should convince the party leaders and other stakeholders that he will do excellently well if given the opportunity to serve as the representative of Kwara South in the senate.
Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, who currently represents North Central on the Board of TETFUND, said he has used his good offices to improve tertiary education in Kwara South and Kwara State as a whole while presenting supporting details.
Emphasizing the importance of showing altruism, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi noted that in the scriptures, 80 per cent of scriptural commands are about ‘man-to- man’ relationship with only 10 per cent centering on ‘God-to-man’ relationship, it is therefore important for people to ensure that they leave the world better than they had met it.
He also added that no country can progress without the diaspora influence.
Party bigwigs and members of the Kwara South Unity Group (KSUG), who also gave speeches, shared personal stories that highlighted Engineer Adeyemi’s good character and actions.
Hon Tunde Fadipe, disclosed that while serving as chairman of Isin local government, he had received a call from Engineer Adeyemi, who told him that there is a community in the local government called Mainasara which was having water problem and that he wanted this addressed without delay. The former local government chairman added that it came as a surprise to him because until that time he had not heard of the existence of such a community and someone who lives in America was aware of the challenges they are facing, he noted that this has shown that the senate aspirant is prepared for the job.
An APC elder in Oke-Ero local government, Dr Petu Ibikunle also cited a situation similar to that of Hon Fadipe disclosing that on being informed of the need to fix a dysfunctional borehole a few years ago, Engineer Adeyemi had made N500,000 available for its repair immediately and it has since then been a source of water for the community in question.
Leader of Kwara South Unity Group (KSUG), Hon Adebayo Jimoh Alao, a former Commissioner for Sports, and a one-time chairman of Oyun local government, who said the group took a valid and reasonable decision to champion the agitation for an Igbomina indigene to occupy Kwara South parliament seat in 2027, also emphasized the need for all to support Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi’s candidacy.
Calling the parliament seat ‘a big position’, he added that if the best man for the job is allowed to occupy it, everyone in the senatorial district will enjoy dividends of democracy.
A former state lawmaker, Hon Abdulrahman Akanni, who urged party members to participate in APC membership revalidation exercise, also emphasized the need for the people of the senatorial district to choose wisely.
Hon Lawal Oseni, who is popularly called Muje, also described Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi as a good candidate while disclosing that before joining the ENACT team, he had discussed with late Dr Fatahi Bello, who told him to go ahead.
Professor Afolayan from Oyun local government, who is the Secretary of Kwara South Elders Forum, also disclosed that a decision has been taken to allow the Igbomina bloc produce the next occupant of the parliament seat.
APC Chairman, Ifelodun local government, who declared support for the Igbomina lokan campaign, said as of today no one from his local government has launched a senate bid which implied acceptance of the resolution that it should be micro zoned to Irepodun local government. He also commended Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi for what he did during the 2022 primary election which he described as an ‘exemplary behaviour’ .
Elder Oyin Zubair from Igbaja said Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi is a good candidate while noting that he has initiatives and ideas in abundance.
Adeyemi’s brainchild, Igbomina Mobile Clinic, he noted, still has its medical team intact while all parts of Kwara South enjoyed the free health service and quality drugs.
