As Muslims across the world celebrate eid-el-fitri following the completion of the fasting period, the Vice-Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has congratulated Muslim community in the university and Muslims across the world for witnessing the end of the one-month spiritually elevating engagement.
The Vice-Chancellor in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun noted that the occasion calls for celebration, particularly in view of the fact that so many of those who started the month of Ramadan did not live to witness the end.
Professor Egbewole reminded Muslims of the need to always exhibit the virtues of discipline, piety and generosity acquired during the holy month of Ramadan in their interactions with others.
The Vice-Chancellor specifically congratulated the Kwara State governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Chairman of the UNILORIN Muslim Community, Professor Mudashiru Olalere Yusuf, as well as the Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin Central Mosque, Prof. Nasir AbdulsSalam on the successful completion of the fasting period.
Professor Egbewole, who is also the Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU), assured stakeholders that the university will continue to be a bastion of peaceful coexistence among adherents of different faiths and socio-cultural backgrounds.
