Fayose Raised False Alarm, Gov Makinde Not Planning To Dethrone Oba Rashidi Ladoja-Oyo Govt

Oyo State government submitted on Sunday that former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Ayo Fayose raised a false alarm by alleging that Governor Seyi Makinde is planning to dethrone the Olubadan of Ibadanland,  Oba Rashidi Ladoja.

The former governor became the Olubadan of Ibadanland in September last year and he has just spent 8 months on the throne.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Dotun Oyelade, who made the clarification in a statement he issued in Ibadan on Sunday, also submitted that the governor has never contemplated or discussed such a matter.

‘By now, Nigerians know who and what to believe, especially when the information comes from a particular quarter.

.

The Oyo State Government has never contemplated, discussed, or planned such an action. There has to be a credible motive for every government action, and this, coming from the unofficial spokesman of our opponents, is better consigned to the refuse dump where it belongs.

Desperate politics foists thoughtless propaganda and reduces democracy to a joke’ he added.

Oba Ladoja’s media aide, Mr Adeola Oloko has also described the alarm raised by Chief Ayo Fayose as false.

‘It will be most unfortunate if it is not a rumour.

I don’t see any cause for friction between Governor Makinde and the Olubadan of Ibadanland’ he said.

Recall that the former Ekiti State governor had in an X.com post alleged that Governor Seyi Makinde is planning to dethrone Oba Rshidi Ladoja while adding that the revered monarch may be queried for not attending the recent coronation ceremony of High Chief Sharafadeen Ali.

Recall also that Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Ali, a High Chief in Ibadanland, who is one of the leading Oyo State APC gubernatorial aspirants, was among those who were made to become beaded crown-wearing Obas at an event held in Ibadan, on April 3, 2026.

Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Ali however stayed away from the event while he was made to become a beaded crown-wearing oba in absentia.

Once a chief accepts the crown, he will be required to abdicate or stopped from seeking a political office as he cannot serve as a traditional ruler and still get recognized as a political leader.

Oba Ladoja, who is the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, has under his belt, a special achievement- the first former governor to become a monarch in the Southwest.

A chemical engineer, the monarch was the governor of Oyo State between May 29, 2003, and January 12, 2006; and also from December12, 2006 to May 29, 2007-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
