2027 Nasarawa Guber: Why I Want Senator Ahmed Wadada As My Successor-Gov Sule
Ahead of the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election, Governor Abdullahi Sule has declared support for Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada’s candidacy while noting that he represents the ‘Muje Maha’ spirit that has defined his administration’s approach to governance and political inclusivity.

Interestingly, Senator Ahmed Wadada, who represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District, had left APC for SDP in 2022 after failing to get party nomination.
Wadada had eventually defeated the APC candidate, Mr Shehu Tukur and he became a member of the senate in 2023.
Team@orietactualmags.com learned that Governor Sule made his support for Wadada’s candidacy known through a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Ali Abare on Thursday.
The governor, the statement added, made the declaration of support for Wadada’s candidacy during the meeting attended by political appointees and heads of government agencies at the Government House, Lafia, on Thursday.
Governor Sule disclosed that the search for a successor had featured wide consultations with foreign and prospective investors, youth groups, women organizations, traditional rulers, party officials, stakeholders, and some among cabinet members.
‘We have to look for people who have the capacity to win this election’ he said.
The number of aspirants was according to him reduced to three before the final decision went in favour of Senator Wadada.
Aspirants from Nasarawa West Senatorial District according to him displayed maturity by agreeing to support whoever emerges as the preferred candidate.
‘Now all the support — now all of us, if we are sincere about the so-called Muje Maha, now, it is the time that Muje Maha is Wadada’ he said.
Signs however emerged on Thursday that it is not yet ‘a done deal’ with regard to Wadada’s candidacy as the campaign organization of a former Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu noted that he is getting ready for the direct primary election.
Chairman of the campaign organization’s committee on Counter and Mobilization, Isa Nathaniel, noted that before the meeting held on Thursday the governor had organized a critical discussion in the party where issues of consensus or direct primary were discussed while the critical stakeholders in the state eventually adopted direct primary election.
‘It was agreed that whoever has anything to offer to the people of Nasarawa State, is a registered member of the party, and is free to contest elections. So, it’s open’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us? Do you want us to cover your event or programme?
