Osogbo/Olorunda LGs Stakeholders Demonstrate Unity At ‘Important’ Meeting In Osogbo, Endorse Gov Adeleke For 2nd Term

Ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, stakeholders in Osogbo and Olorunda Local Governments have declared support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid citing his developmental strides.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the declaration of support was made during the strategic ‘unity meeting’ held at the residence of Dr. Olu Alabi in Osogbo on Thursday, April 16, 2026, which was convened at the instance of Secretary to the State Government, Chief Teslim Igbalaye.

‘The well-attended meeting brought together party leaders, political stakeholders, and key thought leaders from Osogbo and Olorunda Local Governments.

During the deliberations, stakeholders reviewed the performance of Governor Adeleke, highlighting what they described as unprecedented infrastructural and socio-economic developments in Osogbo, the state capital. They noted that the level of development witnessed under the current administration remains unmatched in the history of governance in the state.

The meeting was all-encompassing and well-attended. The stakeholders however appealed to the governor to urgently facilitate the completion of Osogbo–Oba Road, particularly the stretch from Dagbolu to Oba’ the statement said..

Giving his speech, Chief Teslim Igbalaye, who is the Bobagunwa of Osogbo Land, assured the stakeholders that the request would be conveyed to the governor and necessary action will be taken promptly.

‘Following extensive discussions, the stakeholders unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Governor Adeleke and formally endorsed him for a second term in office.

They urged the people of Osogbo to appreciate the governor’s developmental strides by giving him overwhelming support in the upcoming guber election, emphasizing that continuity will guarantee sustained growth and increased dividends of democracy.

The meeting also resolved that stakeholders in Osogbo and Olorunda will henceforth ensure ‘unity of effort’ and speak with one voice in pursuit of shared political and developmental objectives’ the statement added.
