Offa Robbery Case: Media Propaganda Unnecessary, Let Court Decide Your Fate, Bio Ibrahim, Bibire Ajape, Other Kwara APC Bigwigs Tell Saraki

Prominent politicians in Kwara State have asked former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki to prepare his defense against the charges filed against him by the state government in respect of the 2018 Offa Robbery incident rather than engaging in media propaganda.

The top politicians, who are members of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) Continuity Mandate Group, in a co-signed statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday urged Dr Saraki to go to court to clear his name instead of resorting to media propaganda.

Those who signed the press statement in question are Alhaji Bibire Ajape, a one-time chairman of Ilorin East local government, Hon. Isa Bio Ibrahim, a former minister and Engr Jimoh Alao, a former Commissioner for Sports.

They advised Dr Saraki to prepare himself for the court proceedings to clear his name instead of dissipating energy on unnecessary media propaganda while noting that there is merit in the charges filed against the former Senate President and the onus to clear him rests squarely on the court and not the media.

The APC Continuity Mandate Group also hailed Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for mustering the courage to file charges against Dr Saraki, former governor Abdulfattah Ahmed and others.. 

‘This courageous step of Governor AbdulRazaq will ensure justice for the families of the victims of the bloody Offa bank robbery and serve as deterrent to political office holders who think that they are above the law while in power.

This group of eminent politicians and community leaders want to say unequivocally that Governor AbdulRazaq has taken the right step in filing charges against Dr Bukola Saraki and former governor Abdulfatah Ahmed in respect of the 2018 Offa bank robbery. 

While we have noticed the sentiment being expressed by some people with regard to the timing of filing the charges against Saraki, we want to submit that justice should always take its course at any time to ensure decorum and public safety.
