Why I Took Decision To Back Out Of 2027 Ibadan South-East/North-East Reps Race-Actress Funke Adesiyan
Funke Adesiyan, a Nollywood actress, who ventured into politics about 8 years ago, has announced her decision to withdraw from the 2027 Ibadan South-East/North-East House of Representatives race.
Ibadan South-East/North-East Federal Constituency is in Oyo State.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Funke Adesiyan announced her decision to withdraw from the race in a letter sent to the APC Chairman, Ibadan South-East Local Government which was dated April 24, 2026.
In the letter in question which she made available on Facebook at the weekend, Funke said her decision was sequel to ‘certain reflections and high-level consultations’.
‘This decision is personal, deliberate, and guided by a clear assessment of the broader political landscape, as well as my commitment to long-term value, credibility and purposeful service.
I remain fully appreciative of the confidence reposed in me across different levels and the encouragement received from supporters and stakeholders within and beyond our constituency. At this time, I consider it more important to step back with clarity and focus, while continuing to contribute meaningfully to the progress and development of our people through other strategic avenues’ she said.
