‘Presidential Run’ Isn’t ‘Computer Game’, Jonathan Tells Young People Who Urged Him To Join 2027 Presidential Race

Former President Goodluck Jonathan told some young Nigerians ,who marched to his office in Abuja on Thursday and urged him to join the 2027 presidential race, that he cannot just wake up and launch a presidential bid without consulting widely.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Dr Goodluck Jonathan, who also urged young Nigerians to ensure that they participate in electoral process, noted that ‘presidential run’ is not a ‘computer game’.

A computer game is an electronic or digital game played on a personal computer, laptop or similar device in which players interact with the game by controlling images on a screen using input devices like a keyboard, mouse, or joystick.

 These games are a form of interactive, visual entertainment, often featuring stories with a beginning, middle, and end, ranging from puzzle and strategy to action-packed genres.

The former president, who urged Nigerian youths to act as agents of peace, unity, and stability, also said he will consult widely before taking a decision on the 2027 presidential run.

‘It’s only patriotic citizens that build their nations. Unpatriotic citizens will destroy their nation, take the money to anywhere to enjoy their life. So, you must be patriotic. And things are very, very clear.

The key thing we need in this country is peace. So, as young people, I have seen that most of you here, more than 80% of you are very young people.

I don’t even know how old some of you were when I was the president, but the key thing is peace in this country, and you will continue to advocate for that, and you continue to advocate for peaceful and credible elections in the country, because if we don’t have peaceful and credible elections, most good citizens will not want to bother get involved in politics.

And as youths, you will continue to advocate for that. It’s very dear to us peaceful election, and indeed you as young people must continue to be fully involved in the electoral processes, especially your right to vote.

I’ve observed elections in about 14 or more African countries, some I have been there two times.

Presidential race is not a computer game, but I heard you, and I will consult widely, but the most important thing is in Nigeria that the young people will have in Nigeria that will plan for our grandchildren’ he said.

Dr Jonathan did not completely rule out 2027 presidential run but however emphasized the need to consult widely.

‘I’m telling you that I will consult. If there is a need to, fine, I will’ he added.
