Saraki Foundation Empowers Hundreds Of Small Business Owners In Kwara

The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation (ABSF) has continued to deepen its commitment to grassroots empowerment and economic development through strategic interventions aimed at supporting small business owners, women, farmers, and underserved communities across Kwara State.

Executive Director of ABSF, Dr. Audu Idowu Musa noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday that the non-governmental organization has remained focused on improving livelihoods and creating sustainable opportunities for residents through impactful community-based programmes.

Speaking during the Women Financial Empowerment Support Programme held at the GRA, Ilorin office of ABSF on Saturday, May 9, 2026, Dr. Audu explained that the initiative forms part of the non-governmental organization’s broader vision of promoting entrepreneurship, economic growth, and community development through direct support for small-scale business owners.

The programme, which had hundreds of women entrepreneurs as beneficiaries, witnessed the official disbursement of ‘financial support’ to selected beneficiaries to help strengthen and expand their businesses.

In his goodwill speech, Director of Youth Mobilization, Kwara State PDP, Alhaji Muhammed Abdulmumeen, commended former Senate President , Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who is the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, for his unwavering dedication to empowering ordinary citizens through the activities of the ABSF while submitting that the beneficiaries were carefully identified by the Directorate based on the nature, viability, and growth potential of their businesses before being recommended for support.

‘After presenting the recommendations to Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, he approved the empowerment initiative without hesitation and directed the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation to immediately commence implementation’ he said.

Alhaji Abdulmumeen also appreciated Dr. Saraki for the swift approval and his continued support for grassroots empowerment initiatives aimed at improving the standard of living of the people.

The PDP Youth Mobilization Director further explained that both the Directorate and the ABSF will continue to monitor the progress of beneficiaries on a monthly basis to evaluate the impact and growth of their businesses.

He however urged them to use the money for the intended purpose noting that the financial support is strictly meant for business expansion and economic advancement.

‘No beneficiary should give commission or percentage to anybody. The money is strictly meant to support and grow your business’ he added.

Also speaking, Deputy Director of the Directorate, Mr. Babatunde Babamale urged the beneficiaries to remain hardworking, committed, and focused, noting that the intervention is designed to create sustainable economic opportunities for women at the grassroots level.

Some among the beneficiaries, who spoke to reporters at the event, expressed deep appreciation to Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation for the timely intervention, describing the initiative as a major boost to their businesses and family livelihoods.

They pledged to make judicious use of the financial support to expand their businesses, improve productivity, and contribute positively to the economic development of their respective communities.

ABSF also highlighted several ongoing interventions currently being implemented across Kwara State, including the distribution of Aso Oke weaving materials to women to support local craftsmanship and entrepreneurship, agricultural empowerment programmes across the five local governments in Kwara North, as well as the distribution of solar lights to underserved communities to improve access to electricity and enhance living conditions.

The latest interventions once again, reaffirm the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation’s longstanding commitment to grassroots development, economic empowerment, social welfare, and sustainable community support across Kwara State-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
