2026 Guber: Osun APC Campaign Council Cautions Rep Salam, Other Accord Party Bigwigs Against Inciting Comments

2026 Guber: Osun APC Campaign Council Cautions Rep Salam, Other Accord Party Bigwigs Against Inciting Comments

Ahead of the August 15, 2026 gubernatorial election in the state, Osun State APC Campaign Council has cautioned Rep Bamidele Salam, and other Accord Party bigwigs against inciting comments.

The Campaign Council has urged the federal lawmaker, who represents Ede-North/ Ede-South/ Egbedore/ Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, to ‘stop playing politics of incitement ahead of the August 15 gubernatorial election’.

‘We have watched with a very great disappointment how Salam, a lawmaker under the wounded and fragile thumb of the infamous, relatively unknown and unpopular Accord Party in Osun State, has been going about threatening fire and brimstone if the favoured governorship candidate of his party, the outgoing Governor Ademola Adeleke, does not win re-election.

As an experienced hand in the corridor of the subsistent Osun State politics who has been actively involved in the acts of politics and politicking for some time now, it shouldn’t be strange to the federal lawmaker that his governorship candidate has lost the election before being held on the 15th of August, 2026’ the Campaign Council submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its co-chairman, Media and Publicity committee (Print), Chief Kola Olabisi on Sunday.

The statement also said it will not profit Rep Salam or any member of the Accord Party ‘to threaten the peace of the state over the political ambition of a sitting governor whose almost four-year administration has brought a palpable terror, visible and uneven underdevelopment, corporate shame to the people of the state’.

The Campaign Council added that heaven will not fall if Governor Adeleke loses re-election in August this year as Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola , Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola had at different times been made to leave the Government House, Osogbo despite showing willingness to retain the ‘governorship seat’ and nothing happened.

‘We are reiterating the fact that our ever-pragmatic, hardworking, sufficiently and highly educated, constantly resourceful governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), with a robust manifesto, is not a pretender but a contender who has been toiling day and night to achieve victory while his main challenger has been busy burning away his time at pubs dancing, wining and dining in Abuja, Lagos and far away the United States of America.

The patent fear of the MHR Salam and his political co-travellers is the pungent sign of the imminent loss of their governorship candidate even before the election because of his poor preparation coupled with innate ineligibility manifested during his ongoing first term in the office that is winding down in November.

We are patiently pleading with the Accord Party team in Osun State under whatever identity or nomenclature to stop laying a foundation for the imminent loss of their governorship candidate in the forthcoming 15th August, 2026 election as it is too late in the day for them to correct the reasons why the people of the state have wholeheartedly rejected their choice.

Enough of the threat that the sky of the state would be brought down if the governorship election should not go to a particular way as it is on record that the former Governor Bisi Akande left the gubernatorial theatre of the state after one term and the heavens did not fall.

Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola was sent parking by the Court of Appeal after seven and a half years in the office and the corporate existence of our common patrimony remains intact.

The maiden Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, leader of the APC, was in the office as a governor for one term, nothing untoward has happened to the corporate existence of the state.  Osun State is and shall ever remain a going concern’ the Campaign Council submitted while noting that.’our own expectations for the state with reference to the forthcoming governorship election is for the best candidate, Asiwaju Oyebamiji, to emerge as our governor’-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
