Kebbi APC Guber Primary: Bagudu Says He’s Glad Gov Idris Emerged As Guber Candidate By Acclamation
Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has congratulated the governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, who is the Kauran Gwandu, on getting renominated for governor by the APC ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Alhaji Bagudu, who is the immediate past governor of Kebbi State, said this while giving his speech during the luncheon held to celebrate the successful and hitch-free election of the governor by acclamation at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted that the Minister described this as a clear demonstration of unity, strength, and internal democracy within the APC, noting that the process reflected the collective confidence reposed in Governor Nasir Idris by party leaders, stakeholders, and members across the state.
‘Today, we have gathered once again ,in our commitment to democracy to fulfil one of the important processes required by our democratic system’ Bagudu said.
He added that the governor getting elected as the party’s candidate by acclamation is in line with the directive and vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for peaceful, transparent, and inclusive party processes capable of strengthening democracy and consolidating the APC as a formidable political platform in the country.
Alhaji Bagudu applauded Governor Nasir Idris for providing purposeful leadership and promoting inclusiveness within the party, which, according to him, has continued to attract more supporters and strengthened the dominance of the APC in Kebbi State.
The Minister further noted that the achievements recorded by the Idris administration in critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, agriculture, healthcare, and human capital development had continued to earn the governor widespread acceptance and support among the people of the state.
He also commended the leadership of the APC in Kebbi State under the State Chairman, Abubakar Kana Zuru, as well as party members, security agencies, and media organisations for their contributions toward the peaceful and successful conduct of the party’s primary.
Alhaji Bagudu expressed confidence that the unity, cooperation, and mutual understanding being enjoyed within the party will further position the APC for greater electoral victories in future elections, including overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris in 2027.
