Actor Ogogo Dies After Brave Battle With Cancer…He’ll Be Laid To Rest In Ilaro Today
The news of the death of a veteran actor, Mr Taiwo Hassan sent shockwaves through the nation’s entertainment industry on Sunday evening.
Mr Taiwo Hassan, who is popularly called Ogogo, died after a courageous battle with cancer.
He died at 66.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the late Ogogo will be laid to rest in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State today, Monday, August 24, 2026.
A veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, who disclosed this on Instagram, also noted that the late actor breathed his last at 3pm on Sunday.
‘With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of ALHAJI TAIWO HASSAN, popularly called OGOGO, who passed away at 3:00 p.m. today, Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66.
His remains will be taken to his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State today where the lying-in-state ceremony will take place tomorrow.
Date: Monday, 24th August 2026
Time: 11:00 a.m.
Venue: Pavilion, Ilaro, Ogun State.

The Ilaro Muslim Community in separate social media post also announced that the janazah (Islamic funeral prayer) will be held for him at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground, Ilaro..

Kira Taiwo, the late actor’s daughter had earlier in the day confirmed his passing with a heartfelt announcement on Instagram; ‘My daddy is dead’, she said repeatedly.
She had a few days ago, disclosed on Instagram that the veteran actor was battling with cancer and it was incredibly sad news to his fans.
The family had sought medical treatment information or herbal treatment information.
The late actor was held in high regard in the entertainment industry.
A few months ago, Mr Taiwo Hassan had in an interview with Beckyblissblogtv disclosed how he demonstrated his principled character about 9 years ago and left a filming location after being told that he will be doing gay scenes.
Ogogo added that although, he had gotten N250,000 as part payment for the appearance fee, he was however not informed that he will be playing a gay role.
He added that after being told that he will be playing a gay role, he gave the producer a bewildered look, demanded for his bank account number and returned the N250,000 to the person’s bank account without delay.
