The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has issued a final notice to all alumni and graduands to collect their unclaimed certificates before December 31, 2026, noting that the institution will introduce a ₦2,000 monthly demurrage fee on any certificate that remains uncollected from January 1, 2027.
Deputy Registrar, Examinations and Records Division, Mr. Saka Ibrahim Eletu in a statement he issued in Ilorin on Thursday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com disclosed that the management of the Polytechnic has observed that a considerable number of certificates belonging to former students who have successfully completed their programmes are still uncollected, despite the importance of these certificates for employment, further studies, professional advancement and other official engagements.
The statement urged all concerned graduands and alumni to come forward and collect their Diploma, Higher Diploma, National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) certificates on or before December 31, 2026.
It added that certificates are ready for collection at the Examinations and Records Division of the Polytechnic during official working hours.
Noting that any certificate that remains unclaimed will attract a demurrage charge of ₦2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) per month from next year, the polytechnic urged all concerned graduands and alumni to take advantage of this grace period to collect their certificates before the deadline to avoid payment of the demurrage charge.
The statement further noted that the Original Statement of Result, Valid Means of Identification and Evidence of Payment for Certificate are the requirements for collection.
