Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun Reps Seat: Moshood Bakare Talks About His Legislative Agenda, Promises Quality Representation

Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun Reps Seat: Moshood Bakare Talks About His Legislative Agenda, Promises Quality Representation

Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun PDP reps candidate, Hon. Moshood Bakare on Wednesday called himself ‘a homeboy’ (omo onilu) and promised to ensure quality representation if elected representative of the federal constituency next year.

Building his campaign agenda on deep-rooted local heritage and hands-on legislative background, Hon Moshood Bakare also noted that his reps campaign will center on a proven track record in governance and good ‘value proposition’.

Team@orientactualmags.com reports that Hon Moshood Bakare, who said this at the Kwara Tabloid Leadership Development Roundtable held in GRA, Ilorin on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, also highlighted his membership of the 7th and 8th Kwara State House of Assembly, citing his record of heading critical committees, boosting state revenues, and spearheading the rehabilitation of healthcare infrastructure.

Promising that his legislative agenda will produce immediate positive results, he also said his candidacy is an opportunity to dispatch a seasoned parliamentary hand to Abuja adding that his being ‘a good candidate’ will ease the channeling of federal resources to Ifelodun/Offa/ Oyun federal constituency without being on a learning curve.

Highlighting a track record of fiscal restructuring that improved internal revenue of Kwara State, he also talked about a four-point developmental blueprint that focuses on healthcare, youth empowerment, MSME industrial clusters, and digital economy laws.

Reflecting on his tenure as Chairman of Finance and Appropriation, Kwara State House of Assembly, the PDP reps candidate noted that he authored the legislation that established the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) which successfully lifted the monthly internally generated revenue of the state from ₦600 million to over ₦2.1 billion.

This, he added, has since grown towards ₦100 billion providing funds for infrastructure projects and security. He also touched on his interventions that helped to revive primary health facilities.

Building on this foundational experience, Hon Moshood Bakare has proposed a legislative agenda for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun federal constituency which centers on four core pillars:

‘1. Accessible Health & Local Diagnostic Hubs

We will bring medical testing close to our people. I will channel federal healthcare allocations to establish functional Constituency Diagnostic Centers across Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun, while upgrading abandoned rural health centers.

2. Comprehensive Youth Development & Mini-Sports Centers

Youth empowerment requires concrete local infrastructure. I will prioritize establishing multipurpose Mini Sports Centers across all three Local Government Areas to nurture local talent, provide modern athletic facilities, engage our young people, and foster community unity.

3. Wealth Creation, MSME Capital & Trade Clusters

Direct cash distribution is temporary. I will secure federal backing to build targeted industrial trade clusters: leatherwork in Offa, shea butter and cassava processing in Ifelodun, and tech innovation hubs for our youth. We will connect these clusters directly to the Bank of Industry (BOL) and SMEDAN to create sustainable local employment.

4. Modern Laws for the Digital Economy

Our young people are thriving in digital careers, online business, and modern technology. I will sponsor forward-looking bills that protect digital careers, support remote work infrastructure, and reward practical productivity over paper certificates.

5. Transparent Federal Project Tracking

I will establish an open public project portal detailing every allocated constituency project, contractor, and disbursement, backed by quarterly rotating town hall meetings across Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun.

6. Constituency Briefing Mechanism & Constituent

Accessibility

Representation must be accessible. I will institutionalize a quarterly Constituency Briefing mechanism with feedback channels across Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun. This will include physical town halls, ward level engagements, and digital platforms to provide regular updates and receive input. I have done this before as the Representative of the people of Omupo Constituency.

My aides will also be available at all times to listen and monitor events across the Federal Constituency when I am in Abuja’ he said.

Lamenting the security situation in the state which has been marked by persistent banditry and kidnappings, Hon Moshood Bakare said he will give utmost attention to matters that have to do with security if elected reps member because addressing this will produce numerous positive effects.

‘We must address the issue of insecurity first, it is paramount, we must do this so that our farmers can return to their farms, if this trajectory continues, it is dangerous if care is not taken ,there may be food scarcity that may make it difficult to even get okro in the market’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
