Former SDP Assembly Candidate, Associate Dump APC In Kwara
A young politician in Kwara State, who was the Oke-Ogun constituency SDP House of Assembly candidate in the 2023 general election, Comrade Olawale John Adegboye, has ended his membership of APC.
In the Letter of Resignation sent to the chairman of the party in Igosun Ward, Oyun local government , Mr Adegboye said it has become clear to him ‘that the party under its current leadership didn’t learn any valuable lessons from the crisis that erupted since 2018’ while adding that the state APC has failed to change its ‘Mode of Operation which forced myself and many others like me to leave the party in 2022’.
In the Letter of Resignation in question which was made available to Team@orientactualmags.com, Comrade Adegboye added that the ‘Culture of poor Consultation, deliberately overlooking and taking for granted relevant Stakeholders, while critical decisions which will affect the future and fortunes of the party are being taken; hasn’t changed since the current administration came into being in 2019’ noting that he had returned to the APC after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appealed to all those who were aggrieved to ‘return home’.
He called his decision to quit APC ‘painful’.
‘Commitment flows towards the area where it is valued’ ,It is quite unfortunate that the APC in Kwara State doesn’t actually realize my value. This is why again I am taking this painful decision to resign’ he added.
Comrade John Adegboye’s friend and associate, Mr Ahmed Kola Akorede has also ended his membership of APC citing victimization and neglect of Otoge Stakeholders, centralization of power and Lack of Consultation.
In the resignation letter sent to chairman of the party in Essa B Ward, Offa Local Government, Mr Ahmed Akorede also noted that the decision to leave APC is painful but inevitable.
‘After moments of consultations and careful consideration, although with a heavy heart but with a courageous mind, I hereby formally tender my resignation as a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kwara State, effective from today, Sunday, 27th September, 2026.
This decision, though painful, has become inevitable due to leadership failure, lack of internal democracy, and absence of empathy in the management of both the party and governance in Kwara State.
Under His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership, who is the Chief beneficiary of our collective Otoge Revolutionary Struggle, the gains of our struggle have been eroded. What was conceived as a movement for inclusion, justice, and people-oriented governance has regrettably degenerated into a one-man affair, centralized around a few individuals.
It is deeply saddening that many of the issues we condemned as ‘enough is enough’ during the Otoge era are now worse under the current APC administration in Kwara State.
