9 Assembly Members Leave APC For ADC In Zamfara
Nine members of Zamfara State House of Assembly have left the ruling APC for ADC.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the APC lawmakers who have left their party for ADC are Aliyu Ango Kagara, Talata Mafara South state constituency; Muktar Nasir, Kaura Namoda North state constituency; Faruk Dosara Musa, Maradun I state constituency; Basiru Bello, Bungudu West state constituency, Bashir A. Masama , Bukkuyum North state constituency; Ibrahim T. Tukur, Bakura state constituency; Nasiru Abdullahi, Maru North state constituency; Yusuf Muhammad Anka , Anka state constituency; and Bashar Aliyu, Gummi I state constituency.
They cited worsening security situation in the state.
‘Because of the lack of security and lack of concern for the people of Zamfara, we raised the issue in the House, which did not go down well with the governor. That was why we had issues with him, which led to our suspension and later defection to the APC’ Hon Aliyu Kagara said.
The representatives of Maradun I, Maru North, Talata-Mafara South, Bukkuyum North and Bakura state constituencies in separate resignation letters dated October 4, 2026, and sent to the APC ward chairmen in their respective constituencies cited insecurity, injustice and poor governance.
