Isiaka Abdulrazaq Steps Into Late Father’s Traditional Title in Zazzau, Appointed New Tafidan

The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has officially approved and confirmed the appointment of Mallam Isiaka Abdulrazaq as the new Tafidan Yamman Zazzau.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that this decision was conveyed in an official appointment letter from the Zazzau Emirate Council dated October 7, 2026, which was signed by the Magatakardan Zazzau, Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar Hayat.

By this appointment, Mallam Isiaka Abdulrazaq, a prominent technocrat, steps into the traditional role previously held by his late father, Alhaji A.G.F. Abdulrazaq.

Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli congratulated the newly appointed traditional chief while also expressing full confidence in his capacity to effectively lead and discharge the responsibilities tied to the prestigious office.

The newly appointed Tafidan Yamman Zazzau brings a wealth of administrative and financial expertise to the role. Mallam Isiaka Abdulrazaq retired from public service in 2019 after a successful tenure as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Prior to his leadership at the NNPC, he had built a distinguished career in the power sector, serving as the Executive Director of Finance and Accounts at the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), which later transitioned into the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

Mallam Isiaka’s appointment as Tafidan continues a rich family tradition of community leadership and honour.

His late father, Alhaji A.G.F. Abdulrazaq, who was the first lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) from the defunct Northern Region, had during his lifetime held two prominent traditional titles; the Mutawalli of Ilorin and the Tafidan Zazzau.

The Abdulrazaq family has continued to preserve these legacies. Isiaka’s elder brother, Dr. Alimi Abdulrazaq, has already been turbaned as the Mutawalli of Ilorin, while the former NNPC top official now takes up their late father’s legacy within the Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna State-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
