Yuletide: Workers, Retirees Receive Salary, Retirement Benefits In Kwara
Workers in Kwara state have received their salary for the month of December 2022 ahead of Christmas and the New Year celebrations.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s media office in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Tuesday noted that the government has also approved 100% payment of 2009 and 2010 arrears of pensions and gratuities to the local government retirees from the SURE-P refund made available to the state.
‘Kwara State government under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has never defaulted in the payment of salary to workers, a clear departure from what was the situation in the past where workers were not paid their salary for months under the previous administrations.
AbdulRazaq has also implemented the N30,000 minimum wage for workers which is paid by a few states in the country.
The Governor has made it a standing tradition to pay workers early ahead of festive periods so that they can make adequate preparations and provisions for their families.
AbdulRazaq had upon assumption of office also cleared backlogs of salaries owed to workers by the previous administrations across the MDAs.
He has also restored funding of the MDAs with running costs to guarantee efficiency and effectiveness in their day-to-day operations and administration.
The Governor has over time been commended for his commitment to workers’ welfare by stakeholders in the state and the country as a whole’ the statement said- Team@orientactualmags.com
