Falokun-Oja Borehole Project Imbroglio: Connecting Rep Ismaila Tijani With AGF Salahudeen
For the better part of last week, rumours were flying around about a constituency project located in Falokun Oja, Ifelodun local government which was facilitated by a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Ismail Tijani.
It was also a development that got a member of the Kwara state House of Assembly , Hon AGF Salahudeen, in the spotlight.
Tijani, an indigene of Erin-Ile, Oyun local government, represents Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun federal constituency.
Though the Ifelodun/Oyun/Offa APC primary election had been held in May last year, two people; Rep Ismail Tijani and Tajuden Abioye are currently laying claims to the party nomination, and it had since featured a legal battle.
It was gathered that Tijani in a bid to reenergize his political structure ahead of the Reps election scheduled to hold next month, had taken a decision to embark on a tour of the federal constituency.
His tour of Ifelodun local government had however reportedly given birth to stunning revelations.
Shortly after the 2019 reps election , one of his major supporters in the Idofian axis had died, while in the hospital before giving up the ghost , Rep Ismaila Tijani had sent N200,000 to him and after his death he had again, sent N200,000 to his wife.
However, on getting to the community a few days ago, he met a hostile environment and when the federal lawmaker inquired why he was not given a warm reception , Tijani was accused of sending N10,000 to the deceased politician’s wife after the death of her husband which they had considered ridiculous.
Ismal was said to have publicly asked the emissary he sent to pay his respects and give her N200,000; the APC Ward chairman if it was actually N10,000 that he sent through him .
It was also rumoured that Hon AGF Salahudeen, who represents Omupo state constituency, had claimed to have donated the borehole project that the federal lawmaker facilitated and located in Falokun- Oja and that it was his visit to the community that allowed the people to know the true pictures of things.
Salahudeen , a Barrister-at-law, is an indigene of Falokun- Oja and he had consequently been berated for allegedly deceiving his kinsmen. It was further rumoured that some among Tijani’s aides had resigned in annoyance to show solidarity with AGF Salahudeen.
Team@orientactualmags.com has however visited the town and had since confirmed that the controversial motorized borehole project was actually sponsored by the Lower Niger River Basin Authority and facilitated by Rep Ismail Tijani and AGF Salahudeen had nothing to do with the project as all these information were conspicuous on the construction project signboard.
It is therefore practically impossible for the Kwara lawmaker to have claimed credit for the project as alleged given that the construction project signboard had clearly stated and provided information about the sponsor and the facilitator.
Supporters of Hon AGF Salahudeen had since pointed the finger at his political opponents submitting that there was no basis for coming up with such a rumour in the first place- Team@orientactualmags.com
