ACG Umoh Urges Customs Officers To Maintain High Professionalism During Visit To Kwara Area Command

Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs (ACG), who is also the Zonal Coordinator of Zone ‘B’, Nsikan Patrick Umoh has commended the leadership and personnel of Nigeria Customs Service in the Kwara Area Command for their exemplary conduct, discipline, and dedication to duty.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by spokesman for Kwara Area Command, Mr Suleiman Sani Mohammed, a Deputy Superintendent of Customs, noted that ACG Umoh said this during her visit to the Area Command’s Headquarters in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, on Monday, while noting that it was part of her ongoing tour of operational commands in Zone ‘B’.

The Zonal Coordinator noted that since assuming office, her headquarters has not received a single adverse report against the Kwara Area Command adding that this clean operational record reflects the high level of professionalism and integrity embedded in the Area Command’s daily operations.

 Delivering the goodwill message of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, ACG Umoh urged customs officers to remain responsible in their conduct both on and off duty cautioning personnel against involvement in illicit drugs and sharp practices and urging them to safeguard the core values of the NCS.

 Furthermore, she urged customs officers to foster unity as a family working toward a shared goal, reassuring them of the continued support of both the Zonal and Headquarters of the NCS.

Acting Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller N.A. Ogundeyi in his welcome address outlined the key achievements, operational milestones, and administrative successes recorded by the Area Command under his leadership.

As part of the visit, the Zonal Coordinator hosted an interactive session with key trade stakeholders, including leaders of freight forwarding associations, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), and representatives from major excise factories, including ITC and SANICA.

During the engagement, ACG Umoh praised the robust synergy between the Area Command and the trading community while addressing stakeholder concerns regarding cargo clearance procedures, examination timelines, and regional trade competitiveness, providing clear and detailed responses that were warmly received by the trade representatives.
