Amosun Got Antsy But He Eventually Emerged As My Successor-Gbenga Daniel

Amosun Got Antsy But He Eventually Emerged As My Successor-Gbenga Daniel

Senator Gbenga Daniel, who represents Ogun East in the senate, has done a postmortem of his experience as governor of Ogun State between 2003 and 2011 while submitting that Senator Ibikunle Amosun was an impatient person, who however eventually emerged as his successor.

Between 2003 and 2007, Otunba Gbenga Daniel was the governor of Ogun State while Chief Ibikunle Amosun represented Ogun Central in the senate and they were both members of the PDP, however, ahead of the 2007 General Election, Senator Ibikunle Amosun won the defunct All Nigeria People’s Party guber nomination and almost stopped Daniel from winning re-election.

Daniel has called Amosun an ‘enfant terrible successor’ .

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Senator Gbenga Daniel disclosed this on Monday while giving his speech during the thanksgiving service held to mark his 70th birthday at Abraham’s Tabernacle, Sagamu.

Dignitaries at the event include the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s wife, Mrs Bola Obasanjo, Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi, Ibikunle Amosun, Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Alake of Egba land, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, the Akarigbo of Remo land, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, former senator Iyabo Obasanjo, and Hon Oladipupo Adebutu, among others.

‘Let me appreciate the former governors who are here, especially the one they call Ajiri, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, an enfant terrible successor  of mine.

He showed me hell, but we thank God, with the prayers of our clergymen, he has repented.

Sen Ibikunle, thank you very much. We started the race together, but you were too much in a hurry to become governor. That was what happened. It is people like you that we call Ajagungbade. You fought for the crown, and you got it and became the governor, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. I wish you well, and I thank you sincerely for coming’ he said.

In his short sermon, Pastor Enoch Adeboye described Otunba Gbenga Daniel as ‘quite an exceptional politician and an original Omoluwabi’

‘If you are looking for original Omoluwabi, Gbenga Daniel is one, and people like him are quite few. That is why when he approached me and said that I would be the one to say a few words during his 70th birthday, I said I would alter my busy schedule and be there.

I respect you, sir; the Redeemed Christian Church of God respect you and wishes you a happy 70th birthday’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
