Basambo’s Resignation As Spokesman Proof Of Our Commitment To Discipline–Kwara ADC
Kwara State ADC has reacted to the resignation of Mr Abubakar Basambo from the party, describing it as a personal decision that underscores the party’s unwavering commitment to discipline and internal accountability.
In a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the state Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Bolaji Alege, the party disclosed that before now, concerns had been raised in respect of Basambo’s conduct and alignment with the ideals of ADC prompting the party’s leadership and Council of Elders to initiate internal disciplinary procedures.
His exit did not therefore come as a surprise to the committed members and key stakeholders.
The statement noted that rather than facing the established process, Mr Basambo had chosen to resign from his position as Publicity Secretary.
‘The African Democratic Congress is a party founded on discipline, integrity, accountability, and collective responsibility.
No individual is greater than the party, and every member is expected to uphold its constitution and principles without compromise’ the statement said.
The party also dismissed insinuations that the resignation may have reflected vulnerability within the political structure arguing that the development has rather proved that the party will never sacrifice its core values for personal interests or political convenience.
Reassuring ADC supporters of the party’s stability ahead of future political engagements, Alhaji Alege emphasized that the leading opposition party remains fully focused on its mission to provide transparent, competent, and people-oriented leadership for the people of Kwara State and Nigeria.
