Celebrating The Worthy And Impactful Representation Of Hon Olusanya Emmanuel Omirin-Olumuyiwa Adekunle
The essence of legislative representation lies in the ability to transform mandate into measurable development and that is what Hon. Olusanya Emmanuel Omirin has done for the good people of Ijesa South Federal Constituency in the last three years.
Elected to represent Ilesa East/ Ilesa West/ Atakunmosa East/ Atakunmosa West in the 10th House of Representatives in 2023, Hon. Omirin, fondly called ‘General’ by his colleagues, has brought experience, empathy and administrative depth to the Green Chamber.
Hon Omirin, who received Masters of Business Administration from the University of Ado-Ekiti, had at different times served as Secretary , Executive Chairman of Atakunmosa East Local Government, and Commissioner representing Osun State at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The federal lawmaker’s journey from grassroots administration to national parliament has been marked by resilience, service and results.
CHAIRMANSHIP — NIGERIA-THAILAND FRIENDSHIP GROUP
As Chairman, House Committee on Nigeria-Thailand Friendship Group, Hon. Omirin has brought uncommon intellectual depth and diplomatic maturity to parliamentary friendship and foreign cooperation.
Under his chairmanship, the Committee has become one of the most active bilateral friendship groups in the 10th House of Representatives. He has successfully deepened Nigeria-Thailand parliamentary relations through strategic engagements with the Thai Embassy, bilateral legislative dialogues on trade and investment, and advocacy for technology transfer in agriculture, particularly in improved palm oil production, rice processing, and mechanized farming — areas where Thailand has global excellence and where Ijesa South has comparative advantage.
He has championed discussions on scholarship and technical exchange programmes for Nigerian youths in engineering, ICT and vocational studies in Thai institutions, and promoted ease of doing business to attract Thai investors into Osun’s solid minerals and agro-industrial value chain. Through his diplomatic shuttle, he has projected Ijesa South and Nigeria as a whole as investment-friendly, secured goodwill for Nigeria in the ASEAN community, and ensured that the voices of his constituents are heard not just in Abuja, but on the international stage.

It is a mark of leadership that a first-timer was entrusted with such a sensitive international committee — a testimony to his credibility, composure, and the respect he commands among colleagues across party lines. Hon. Omirin has carried this responsibility with honour, making Ijesa South proud as an ambassador of Nigeria’s parliament to the world.
