How Emir Ajagungbade’s Courteous Gesture Resulted In His Death…He Was Osun Govt’s Pick For NURTW Chair- Gbadegesin

A fatal decision to stop for lunch out of courtesy for the elders who accompanied him from Osogbo to Modakeke was what ultimately cost the life of Mr. Olalekan Oyeyemi, who was popularly called ‘Emir’ and ‘Ajagungbade’ according to new revelations surrounding the tragic shooting.

Recall that Ajagungbade was shot dead in the popular Mayfair Garage area on Sunday.

Mr. Gbadegesin, the Vice Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Osun State disclosed that the late Oyeyemi was the state Government’s preferred choice to lead the union before he was assassinated in a surprise attack.

According to Gbadegesin, the union leadership had just concluded a strategic meeting in Modakeke with the state Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Ephraim Olusesan Oyedele, who had during the meeting in question explicitly communicated the state government’s directive for union leaders to support Emir’s candidacy for the NURTW chairmanship.

After the meeting, the delegation posed for photographs and prepared to return to Osogbo, however, a gesture of respect changed the course of the day.

‘The elders who accompanied him from the state capital had not yet eaten lunch and Emir was advised that the best place to secure a proper meal on a Sunday was the Mayfair garage, so, they detoured there to eat.

It was during this lunch stop that gunmen launched a surprise ambush, fatally shooting Oyeyemi’ he submitted in a viral video.

In the wake of the killing, NURTW leaders have pointed fingers at rival figures, specifically accusing Nurudeen Wakil aka ‘Alowonle’ and Adeyemi Ojo aka ‘Sibi’ of coordinating and executing the deadly assault.

Both accused men have however firmly denied the allegations. Taking to social media, Alowonle proclaimed his innocence and invoked curses upon those he claimed were attempting to tarnish his reputation.

In a sharp twist, Adeyemi Ojo turned the allegations back onto the accusers claiming that it was actually Gbadegesin and an individual named ‘Oworo’ who mobilized armed groups from Osogbo, Owena, and other towns to launch an offensive against them alleging that after departing the Modakeke meeting, Gbadegesin initiated attacks at the location with the support of Oba Goal, Sango, One One, and Young Abbey .

As tensions rise within the state’s transport sector, security agencies are under pressure to investigate the conflicting accounts and bring the perpetrators of the violence to justice-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
