Etsu Nupe Honours Senator Saliu Mustapha With Tabariki Nupe Chieftaincy Title
The Etsu Nupe, who is also the Chairman of Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, has honoured Senator Saliu Mustapha with a chieftaincy title.
Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central in the senate, has been named as Tabariki Nupe and he is the first person to hold the prestigious chieftaincy tile.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that this was formally announced through a letter sent to the governor by the monarch, which was delivered by a Bida Emirate Council delegation that was led by Barje Nupe and Chairman of the Bida Emirate Traditional Turbaning Committee, Alhaji Kassim N. Yawa and the Wakilin Labarai Nupe, Alhaji Isah Isah Muhammad, who is the Secretary of the committee.
The delegation noted that ‘Tabariki’ is derived from the Arabic word ‘Tabarakah’, meaning in English ‘abundance and infinite blessings’, and it is interpreted to signify the ‘Blessed Son of the Nupe Emirate’.
Reacting to the development, Senator Saliu Mustapha appreciated the Etsu Nupe, who is also the Chairman of Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, for the honour, describing it as both humbling and deeply symbolic.
Senator Mustapha, who is the Turaki of Ilorin, noted that the recognition reflects the longstanding historical and cultural ties between the Bida Emirate and the Ilorin Emirate, which continue to reinforce a shared heritage and an enduring brotherhood.
The federal lawmaker, who chairs the Committee on Agriculture, Production Services and Rural Development, added that the honour serves as a reminder that contributions to humanity do not go unnoticed, adding that it will further inspire him to remain committed to public service and societal development.
Senator Mustapha also expressed gratitude to the Etsu Nupe and the Bida Emirate Council for the recognition, pledging to uphold the dignity of the chieftaincy title and continue to serve humanity with dedication and integrity.
