Kebbi Senator Leaves APC For ADC, Cites Intraparty Conflict

Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, who represents Kebbi South in the senate, has announced his decision to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Senator Maidoki, who heads the Senate Committee on Legislative Compliance, cited intraparty conflict in APC which had according to him surfaced after the recently held party primaries.

Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau read out the Kebbi Senator’s defection letter during the plenary session he presided over on Tuesday.

Senator Maidoki said his decision to leave APC for ADC was sequel to ‘wide consultations with his constituents’.

‘There is a lingering internal crisis in the APC, especially arising from the Kebbi primary elections. After due consultation with my constituents, I have decided to defect to the ADC, which I believe aligns more with the interests of my district’ Senator Maidoki submitted in the letter in question.

Senator Jibrin Barau sought to make the senator have a decision-switch by urging him to pause action and allow room for reconciliation but this failed to produce desired results.

‘I wish to intervene and plead with the distinguished senator to rescind his decision. There is no internal problem in the APC in Kebbi State. This is more of a family dispute and we can reconcile. I move that this defection be stepped down for reconciliation’ he said.
