Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has set up a visitation panel to Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology (AFUST), Aliero.
The visitation panel is tasked with investigating the lingering challenges at the state-owned university.
The visitation panel was inaugurated by Governor Nasir Idris at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi on ,Monday.

The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday that the visitation panel is headed by a former Minister of Science and Technology and pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Muhammad Abubakar Ka’oje.
In his remarks, Governor Idris directed members of the visitation panel to conduct a thorough investigation and make far-reaching recommendations aimed at permanently resolving the seemingly intractable crisis in the university.
He expressed concern over the prolonged disputes within the institution, particularly the serious conflicts between the University Management and the Governing Council noting that efforts by the Ministry of Higher Education to resolve the issues had not yielded the desired results, as the problems continued to escalate.
He noted that academic and administrative activities at the university have been adversely affected by the persistent internal crisis.
Governor Idris disclosed that the situation had at a point compelled him to consider dissolving the Governing Council and disengaging the University Management, including the Vice-Chancellor while also condemning the idea of people sending petitions to the anti-graft agencies without the knowledge of the state government.
The governor submitted that members of the Visitation Panel were carefully selected based on their professional standing and integrity, expressing confidence in their ability to deliver a credible and comprehensive report.
He further directed the University Management to fully cooperate with the visitation panel by making available all requested documents, including financial records. Governor Idris warned that any act of non-compliance would attract serious consequences.
He also instructed the Secretary to the State Government to ensure that all necessary logistics are provided to enable the visitation panel effectively carry out its assignment.
Responding on behalf of the panel, Professor Muhammad Abubakar Ka’oje, assured the governor of the committee’s commitment to executing the task with diligence, courage, and professionalism.
He assured the governor that the visitation panel will recommend practical solutions in the best interest of the university as a citadel of learning-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
