Kwara Grassroots Mobilization: Golden Women Forum Hosts Zakari Mohammed In Ilorin, Backs Atiku’s Subsidy Restoration Agenda

Kwara Grassroots Mobilization: Golden Women Forum Hosts Zakari Mohammed In Ilorin, Backs Atiku’s Subsidy Restoration Agenda

Ahead of the 2027 general election, the leading opposition party, ADC has received a massive grassroots boost in Kwara State.

Members of the Golden Women Forum in Kangu community, Idi Ogede, Ilorin, Warah/Oshin Egbejila Ward, Ilorin West Local Government, formally hosted the state ADC gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Zakari Mohammed on Tuesday and pledged their unalloyed loyalty to his governorship bid and all the candidates of the party.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Woman Leader, Alhaja Rasheedat Muritala, disclosed that the members were previously aligned with another political party but chose to leave because they did not receive the necessary encouragement or support.

She explained that their search for a better and more progressive political platform led them to the ADC.

Alhaja Muritala further emphasized that the influential presence of Hon. Abdulkadir Aluko and other prominent stakeholders within the party gave them full confidence that they would not regret choosing the ADC as their preferred vehicle for the upcoming 2027 polls.

Speaking in the same vein, one of the officials of the forum, Olayemi Rachel Omolayo in an interview with Team@orientactualmags.com  shared her personal journey, noting that despite being a politician for four years, she had never received the required encouragement in her former political home.

She expressed firm conviction that the ADC would offer a better environment for inclusive participation, the forum’s Secretary, Akingbade Janet, also said the ADC represents a genuine promise to change the country’s fortunes for the better, pointing out that the party’s presidential candidate , Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is widely celebrated for his generosity and is highly expected to deliver good governance.

Giving his speech, the state ADC governorship candidate, Hon. Zakari Mohammed, commended the women for their courage and strategic decision noting that the 2027 general election must transcend tribal sentiments.

He stressed that governance affects everyone equally regardless of ethnicity. ‘There is no filling station or market reserved exclusively for Yoruba people’ Hon Mohammed submitted while reinforcing that the fight is collectively about changing the country for the better.

Hon Zakari Mohammed further highlighted that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar remains deeply passionate about easing the economic hardships currently confronting Nigerians noting that the former Vice President has shown commitment to reversing the current administration’s fuel policy by restoring the petrol subsidy under a structured framework.

To demonstrate total accountability, Hon. Mohammed said Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will sign a formal contract with the Nigerian populace next month adding that prominent Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) will sign on behalf of the citizens to guarantee the return of the subsidy.

Calling the PDP a mere ‘guest house’ for the ruling APC, Hon Zakari Mohammed urged Kwarans and Nigerians at large to avoid political ambiguity and cast a straight-ticket vote for the ADC, which remains fully committed to an aggressive ‘affordability agenda’

Hon Zakari Mohammed was accompanied by Deputy State Chairman of the party, Hon Gabriel Kanajogun, Kwara North senate candidate, Hon Taoheed Bala Usman, Kwara Central senate candidate, Hajia Riskat Abdulahi, Ilorin West/Asa reps candidate, Hon Abdulkadir Aluko, Hon Garuba Idris, Alhaji Funsho Isa Nuhu, and Ilorin West Local Government ADC chairman, Alhaji Saheed  Olanrewaju.

Meanwhile, Hon. Zakari Mohammed earlier on Tuesday received leaders and members of ‘Kwara State Trumpet for Atiku & Amaechi’ led by Hon. Olayinka Maiyaki, alongside the ‘Good Foundation’ led by Hon. Akeem Ajinikirun.

They all pledged their support for the former federal lawmaker and other ADC candidates.

Hon. Ajinikirun noted that the Good Foundation comprises over 15,000 members across the 16 local governments in the state adding that they were formerly members of the Action Alliance.

Hon. Zakari Mohammed welcomed them warmly and promised that an ADC government will improve the lives of Nigerians. He also assured them that Kwara State would witness positive changes under his administration if elected governor, while accusing the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration of running an ineffective government due to a lack of experience.

‘There are currently about nine ministries without Permanent Secretaries. The governor is running an ineffective government. As the Commissioner for Energy, I distributed transformers to communities as soon as engineers inspected and verified the need.

The state government kept transformers near Kwara Express; once approved, they were picked up, and we connected communities to the national grid with ease’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
