Media Report Alleging Inaction ‘Untrue’, Our Investment In Security ‘Huge’-Kwara Govt
Kwara State government has described as ‘untrue’ the media report claiming that there has been lack of action on the part of the current administration in the state in respect of the fight against insecurity.
The state government in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Bashir Adigun on Saturday asserted that huge resources have been provided in support of federal government-led security operations and surveillance in the state.
‘Our attention is drawn to a news report on an online platform which alleges that the state government was not spending on security issues.
The claims are not true. Not only is the state investing huge resources to support federal government-led security operations and surveillance, including air sorties and interdictions, the government is committing appreciable resources to building ethical local resilience against banditry and terrorism.
These facts are known to the various security agencies and to local vigilante groups and concerned stakeholders in different parts of the state.
Security spendings are considered to be sensitive issues of national security. For these reasons, government must strike the right balance when managing security information in order not to jeopardize public safety’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
