Media Reports Claiming I Was Involved In Abduction Of Adelabu’s Sister Irresponsible, Defamatory-Senator Sharafadeen Alli
Senator Sharafadeen Alli, who represents Oyo South in the senate, has denied involvement in the abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, in Ibadan, Oyo State capital last week.
Mrs. Olaide is former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu’s younger sister and the former CBN Deputy Governor and Senator Ali had competed for Oyo State APC governorship nomination while the latter had won the guber primary.
The abducted victims were rescued unhurt by the police on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at about 7:30 p.m.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Senator Alli, who took to X.com on Sunday to react to the allegations raised against him, also described the media reports alleging that he had a hand in the abduction incident as ‘false, malicious, baseless, irresponsible, defamatory, and politically motivated’.
‘For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Alli has no connection whatsoever with the said criminal incident, the individuals mentioned, or any activity related to kidnapping or violence.
We note with concern that even the report itself admitted that no security agency has established any link between Senator Alli and the alleged crime.
It is therefore disturbing that faceless propagandists could deliberately weaponize unconfirmed claims to mislead the public and heat up the polity’ his media office submitted..
The senator condemned kidnapping and all forms of criminality while adding that he had consistently supported efforts aimed at strengthening security and protecting lives and property in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
He urged members of the public to disregard the media reports and avoid spreading falsehoods capable of undermining ongoing security investigations or causing political tension.
