My Senate Floor Speech Misrepresented, I Never Promised To Rescue Senators Who Failed In Primaries-Akpabio
Senate President, Barrister Godswill Akpabio has submitted that his recent senate floor speech was misrepresented while clarifying that he never promised to rescue senators who are members of APC, and had failed in the party’s primaries.
He submitted that what he had said was misrepresented and taken beyond the intended meaning.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the Senate President, who made the clarification in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh on Saturday, also noted that he neither promised nor authorized anyone to promise automatic renomination for senators who failed in the APC primaries.
‘What the President of the Senate actually said, in the course of interacting with his colleagues, was to empathize with senators who were affected negatively by the outcome of their primary elections’ the statement said.
The statement added that Akpabio only conveyed assurances that the APC leadership is examining issues that have to do with the primaries and that the final list of candidates will be released in line with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.
‘He assured them that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is actively working to address all issues arising from the primaries and that the final list of candidates will be released in due course in line with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
