Reasons Why Osun Workers Supported Gov Adeleke’s Re-election-NLC Chairman

Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Osun State chapter, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo has explained reasons why civil servants in the State of the Living Spring ensured that Governor Ademola Adeleke enjoyed complete, unwavering, and active support in respect of his re-election bid which helped in making him earn electoral victory.

The Adeleke administration according to him has an unmatched commitment to welfare of workers adding that the governor’s good deeds toward the civil servants and pensioners made him enjoy massive electoral goodwill.

Team@orientactualmags.com reports that the NLC Chairman said this while giving his speech during the Appreciation Dinner and Gala Night held by the Imole Campaign Council to thank media practitioners in Osun State for their support before, during and after the Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

Recall that gubernatorial election was held in the state on Saturday, August 15, 2026 and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not only declared him winner of the election in question but also made his Certificate of Return available to him.

The Appreciation Dinner and Gala Night held at Oasis Hall & Events center, Osogbo was sponsored by Rep Bamidele Salam, who represents Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

Comrade Christopher Arapasopo noted that the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration met Osun as Number 34 on the minimum wage list in the country and within three years the state became number 3 on the list while he also prioritized the welfare of pensioners.

‘It was only God that made it possible for us, it was also easy to earn electoral victory because the governor has done creditably well in all aspects.  Before his administration came into being, Osun was 34 on the minimum wage list. Osun is now number 3 in the country and workers are happy.

Pensioners were receiving N350 before we had the current administration in the state and N25, 000 was approved for them. Those on the contributory pension scheme also got N10, 000 each’ he said.

The NLC chairman also said ‘Osun is at peace’ adding that ‘we are happy to have Adeleke as our governor’.

He also noted that just like they did in the Saturday’s gubernatorial election, civil servants in the state will also vote for Accord Party candidates in the 2027 senate and House of Representatives elections.

Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Imole Campaign Council, Rep Bamidele Salam, who thanked God for making the gathering possible, said ‘after a very great work that we have done I felt it important to create a platform for members of the committee and media practitioners in the state to unwind’.

He thanked members of the committee for doing a good job noting that he found former Senator Babafemi Ojudu’s viral election postmortem write-up delightful.

Mr Ojudu, he added, had described the media team as top notch while commending them for delivering ‘quality communication’.

The federal lawmaker also said although there were challenges but with the mercy of God and dedication, members of the committee were able to overcome them.

He called two members of the committee out of the audience and posed for pictures with them.

The two chaps; Machiavelli and Dapeace were according to him harassed, arrested and detained by the police which denied them the opportunity to participate in the Saturday’s governorship election.

The event was attended by dignitaries including Rep Bamidele Salam and his wife, Mrs Oluwaseyi Salam, Majority Leader, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Kofoworola Adewunmi, Hon Olusola Ajala, Hon Jamiu Olawunmi, Hon. Hezekiah Oladele Olabamiji,  Hon Abayomi Ojosegun and Comrade Christopher Arapasopo –Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
